Cryptopay Tap Plus only (no magnetic readers)

Looking to replace faceplates and was contemplating installing Cryptopay Tap Plus only (no magnetic stripe readers).
Any comments or opinions on this would be appreciated. If the site currently has magnetic readers and switched to Tap Plus only would this cause a decrease in business? Obviously, having Both magnetic readers and Tap Plus is ideal, but faceplate size may be a limiting factor to accommodating both.

Personally, both my debit and credit cards do not have TAP. So a tap only reader is out of the question for me. that is why i chose Monex and readers at my wash that way so I can accept all cards. Personally, both my debit and credit cards do not have TAP. So a tap only reader is out of the question for me. Try looking at Monex and Nayax for your upgrade.

You can load your non tap cards onto your phone's mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc) and then tap to pay with your phone.

We went with the standard tapper and the swiper which takes up a lot of space. A couple of our vacs have really small doors so we had to get creative on tapper placement. We just reopened four weeks ago after remodel and are about 42% swipe vs 58% tap on SS bays and vacs.

You can leave your data open to whomever you want to see and copy it . But i am not loading my secure data on any phone ever again.

@OurTown where did you get those bay meters? They look great!

They are National Pride and we bought them used. Originally 10 position rotary switches and I converted them to 12 position bolt-on style. They are not even in the same place as they were originally. Then I installed a black flush dummy switch in the swiper, ran the wires out the back and installed that red stop button. Because we wanted to make sure people would notice that the bay was actually active I put that green LED at the top that we call the pilot light. The bill acceptor opening cover is a Hamilton weather shield that is attached with a good double side tape. Mrs. OurTown is a digital design instructor and she designed the decal. We probably spent way too much time on them but we like the result. We really tried to get the words just right to make sense to most people. It has been five weeks since we reopened the bays (auto is still not open yet 😞) and only one time so far I have noticed someone left has the bay on.

Good looking meter boxes!

I did green LED light too as just a "hey the meter is still running" light. I've only had issues so far simply because people beat on the light trying to get it to shut off thinking it's some sort of button. And yes there's signage on the meter box with an arrow and on the wall explaining how to turn the cc off.

We make an assortment of 'side mount boxes' when you don't have room on your faceplate. One version for CryptoTap Plus is Kleen-Rite part #CPS3025-CTP. Use 'Side Mount Box' in their search and you will see all of them.

We have Tap Plus only at one of our washes. No issues no customer issues. Works great

we just needed to print QR cards for our attendant cards to work. Minor effort.

I dont personally have experience with crypto or other card reader systems other then Nayax. But feel free to reach out to me about Nayax. I have them at my two washes and on all my equipment and I have also helped other car washes in my install them. I have been very happy with them.
