I am going to be installing new selector dorrs with bill acceptors and cryptopay units. How do you have the cryptopay setup? Do you have to push the button for coin pulses or do you hit start and run until you are finished and then push stop button?? I need to ffigure this out so I can have the instructions printed on decal. Please give advise. thanks for your help.

The washes in my area that have it that I have been to all set it up so that you have to push the button for coin pulses. My personal opinion is that this is entirely too confusing for the customer. I didn't even understand it the first time I used it. We have a very similar system to cryptopay, and we run it in count up where you swipe it and don't hit the button until you are done washing your vehicle. Much simpler to understand. You still get the occasional person who will swipe it and see a button light up and then immediately press it thinking they need to press the glowing button to start the bay up, but those are few and far between, and they figure it out eventually :)

This is the way our wash has it setup and it works awesome:

1. customer swipes card.
2. card is authorized.
3. wash starts and display counts up the amount spent.
4. customer presses stop button on swiper to end charges.

We are count up on our coin boxes and I prefer it over count down less of a hassle. Just swipe, clean vehicle/dog, hit stop for total charge.

I tried doing the same thing with my Hamilton changer to allow tokens to be purchased via cryptopay. I forget the name of the tech at cryptopay but he said that the swipers are dependent on the timers they are connected to. Then I asked, how does it work on a Unitec WS2? he replied that they had to create a retrofit board for it to work. I guess there just hasn't been much interest. Hopefully they will look into it and make it available.

SW Indiana melon fields.
For years I crusaded for a CC to token machine. American eventually built it (even called me for input before designing it). I have three of them, the newest is probably ten years old. I have been disappointed from the git-go with the amt. of use they get. They never came close to living up to my expectations. If I have to spend any significant money on them when the CC laws change I may just eliminate them.

Be careful what you wish for, you may be disappointed...I know I am.

I had new meter box decals made with the following phrase directly below swiper with an arrow pointing towards button, "Push flashing button to end credit card charges." You could easily add a decal overlay.

Yes it is possible to install a credit card reader on the front of a bill changer, it’s actually pretty simple. There are a number of car washes in the Seattle area that have installed them. You want to use a USA Technologies credit card reader system.

Ours is not cryptopay, but works the exact same way. You don't really let a person charge only 40 cents on their card do you?
I was thinking the same thing about the .40 cents. I am setting mine up with a $3 minimum on CC transactions.

I was thinking there has to be a way to set the cryptopay as a $5 pulse signal to the changer??? And just have that as the only option on token purchases??? I really dont want to have 3 different card processing setups. I have tsys for my autoteller and will have the worldpay for the cryptopay for bays and eventually vacuums.
