Is there any way to change dwell time for the triple foam on a D&S 5000. It seems to take too long just shooting out foam at the front of the vehicle before the gantry starts moving. I've been told by the area D&S rep that there is nothing I can do about it, but at the least I'll put a delay before the relay that powers the triple foam .. Anyone got any other solutions ?

It's set up that way to give it a good fill time.

A delay relay is probably the best solution.

Have your dist. order a program chip that has a shorter dwell time. You can't do it with a timer and make the delay time shorter. you could use a timer to keep the same delay time of the gantry, but delay when product starts. This would save you chemical.

My distributor said I couldn't do anything about it . But I'm not that dumb . All I was wanting to do is delay when the product starts, not delay the gantry . A simple timer should be all that's needed to accomplish that

if all you want to do is delay the product us a delay timer. you can take output off plc controller and use output to power delay timer. then take the origional wire that was on the controller to hook to delay timer. you can then vary when product starts. send me a PM if you want more detail. I am a d/s dist., but have always shortened the delay, and product, i have never only delayed the product, but its pretty simple to do.

For the simplest modification, he wouldn't need to do anything more than put an adjustable delay relay inline on the wire that powers the solenoids on the trifoam unit.
