Is one of these better than the other or are they just different sizes?

They both have pretty much the same functions. The LED-6 has a little bit larger display and mounts on a shelf. The LED-7 is a little bit smaller display and mounts on 4 studs. If I was to replace my face plated I’d go with the LED-6 timer. I currently have LED-7 timers and I like them. If I went to a LED-6 timer I’d have to replace my face plates.

I use the LED 7's for my self serve bays. I have the 6's in my combo vacs.
I believe they will both do count up. The 6 can have at least 2 different cost inputs and timers for those costs. Not sure if the 6 will do all the bay functions such as grace period, bonus time etc. I think you can get the PDF instructions from the Kleen Rite site to compare.

IIRC The LED6 is the only dixmor timer that will do count up cash if you use crptopay
LED 7 Counts up cash with Cryptopay.
This may be a recent change - as of June 2019 only the LED6 could count up in cash. I'm not sure I like that feature anyway.

Other than that, they have the same functionality. I'd recommend the LED6 for retrofit into Coleman equipment because you only have to change the bracket.

FWIW I've had a lot of trouble with LED6 displays. I built a lot of Cryptopay upgrade doors between 2015 and 2019, and a lot of them requested the 6. About 1/4 of them had display issues and had to go back under warranty, or are still flickering or missing a row or a couple columns or some dots. I've never had an issue with a 7 display that didn't take more than five years to manifest, and they still fixed them under warranty. This has been like two timers out of many hundreds I've sold or installed in new equipment.

Perhaps there is some miscommunication here. If people use cash the LED 7 does not count up. If they use cryptopay I have it set up to read out counting up in $. Has been that way since install several years ago with whatever the then current software version was.

The LED-7 will only display time and will not count up in money spent/cash. The LED-6 timer on the other hand will display both money spent and time. That's straight from Dixmor
