I hope it is ok to post this here. Trying to reach operators who might be able to use some free spare parts.

I recently put new doors on my self serve meter boxes. I've got five Dilling Harris doors that I removed and I'm looking for anyone in need of parts from the DH doors. I don't want anything for the doors or parts, just thinking someone might be able to make use of the spare parts before I get rid of them. I've got two complete doors that are in working order. Door, timer, controller, sound board and speaker. I've got three other doors with good sound boards and speakers, but the timers and controllers don't work. The controller boards and timers can probably be sent out for repair. I didn't have much luck with getting the boards repaired, so I wouldn't recommend it. View attachment 890

Just a thought ... someone who wouldn't mind the work could replace what appears to be membrane switches ... with some stainless steel vandal resistant momentary button switches. I had done that with Specialty Equipment's membrane switches using their distribution boards. Later on when Specialty's distribution boards were no longer available ... we improvised with one of GinSan's distribution boards. We could have gone to rotary switches but we were thinking the buttons with the tiny led selection acknowledgement was more "customer friendly".

The doors and parts are taken. Didn't expect that quick of a response, but glad that they will be used. Thanks for the info on the membrane switches. In response to Mac's question I replaced the doors for a few reasons. The timer's and controllers would go out and getting them repaired was time consuming and costly. I tried three different PCB repair companies and none were great. The last was S. Thomas and it took me over two months to get two boards back from them and one of the boards didn't work. I spent over $1,000 on board repair in the past year. The doors were sensitive to cold weather, the face stickers needed to be replaced........ I bought four replacement doors from etowah valley. The doors are not as sophisticated as the DH doors, but they work well and look good. My struggles is why I didn't feel comfortable selling them.
