Do most offer bonus time for quarters inserted before time runs out?

I am wondering if most washes offer what my Dixmor timer calls "multiple bonus." Upon searching I have found discussion of price point "single bonus", but no discussion of multiple bonus. We have our pricing set at $1.75 for 4.5 minutes, so 39 seconds per quarter. Any quarters inserted before time runs out add 45 seconds. This how our Coleman distributor set up our wash when we built it 15 years ago. I doubt our customers even realize they are receiving bonus time. We don't have any signage stating such. Does anyone else offer multiple bonus?

Signage indicates amount of time and sign next to meter says "Free Time" i.e. Insert $5.00 2 Minutes Free. Insert $10.00 4 Minutes Free.

What model Dixmor timer are you using? I would raise my price to at least $2.00 for 4 minutes and turn off the “Bonus time” option. I do use the 20 second restart feature.

Are you talking about the "grace time" that allows someone to add a quarter and get the bay started without the full startup price? If so we use it too but can't get it to work with the Cryptopay swiper button. It appears to only work with coins for us.

I have grace time to restart on my vacs...rarely used as I have 6min start. My bays beep at one minute...add more money prior to end of time or restart with $3.

Our bays beep at one minute also but you can't hear it if you are on the other side of the car on high pressure. Does someone make a louder horn?

The horns I got from Dixmor are pretty darn loud. I put tape over part of them because they were to loud.

I'm using a LED 6 and not offering grace time. Doesn't sound like anyone else changes the amount of time per quarter for quarters added before time runs out. Maybe I will change to $1.75 for 4 minutes, so 34 sec/quarter flat rate whether start up or quarters added while running, turn off bonus time, and turn on grace time. I should probably consider doing a single bonus for $5 and $10. Thanks for the input. Anyone have pics of the signs they use to promote bonus time?

We do give extra bonus time on our laundromat clothes dryers & our car wash vacuums ... for the customers choosing to use dollar coins which customers can easily get from either of our two large Standard 4 Hopper ChangeMakers. That helps to change the customer's mindset from quarters more to dollar coins. In other industrialized countries such as Canada ... they have the option to go to an even higher denomination coin & play with that approach to bonusing. Not surprisingly ... this is effective from our experience for about 7 years now.

I changed the horn length from 10 sec to 30 so customers are more likely to hear it as a few mentioned that they never heard the horn.

We did the same thing but maybe we should make it the full 60 seconds.
