Do you strap poly tube in attic?

Do you strap it to the rafters or let it lay loose? What about the high pressure lines?

I have a sheet metal Trough with a lid that is lined with ridgid foam board insulation. The lines, poly and HP just lay in the trough.

I wouldn't strap it. If you have to run a new line, you'd have to cut all the straps to remove the old one.

Try to keep the high-pressure and low-pressure lines separate. Poly will rub through very easily with any vibration from the high-pressure lines.

I much prefer nylon tubing.

I opted to strap them all together to bundle them around my hot water circulating line in the troughs. Realizing it will be a pain when I have to replace one of the lines or splice one because it broke, however, since I did it 5yrs ago I haven't had to break them apart for repairs. The time and headache I've saved from frozen lines has been welcome.

If you don't need to bundle them to a hot water line, and you're looking for keeping things "neat", then you could use those poly hose holders every few feet to keep things in order. Other than the reason I stated above, I do not see a reason to strap them.

I wasn't sure if the poly lines jump when they come on. I could see them rubbing through if they did?

The poly lines won't move enough by themselves to rub through.

Agreed - they usually don't move, and if they do it wouldn't be enough to rub through. Probably a bigger concern would be the HP hoses as they can vibrate and usually rub a hole in themselves if not secured. I like the holders for poly tube as they give you a clean look in the trough - however, you're the only one who sees them and they do nothing for your performance.

I did replace my HP hoses at one of my washes with SS instrument tubing and used the poly hose holders to secure them to prevent any rubbing against other hoses.

I wouldn't fasten any of them. When replacing a line from the eq. room all the way to the bay, you can pull the new line through with the old one if it's not fastened to anything. I don't see any advantage in fastening them down. If you have a vibration wearing a hole in a hose you need to fix the vibration.

What is an attic?

What about pex? I ran half my ro in pex and it seems like the best stuff ever.

So I would be interested why pex is the worse idea ever.
If I ever get caught up I was going to try all my lp functions.... Why not? What could possibly go wrong? LOL
