I have LED's in some of my bays. I put LSI's 102LED light in my automatic bays, one has 4, the other 6. Im also trying the tube type LED's from G&G. I absolutely love them, no maintenance and really bright bays. Our electrical provider gave us approx 50% rebate on the purchase of the lights. I wouldn't do anything else.

I would like to hear from someone who actually has them.
The gas station down the street from me converted his Scottsdale's to LED. My only opinion of them is from a customer point of view at the station. They look good and are BRIGHT.

Thanks for all the replies. Y'all have convinced me to keep my fixtures and convert them to CFLs. Thanks again for the input. This is a great forum!

Even with the cost of new wiring, timer, and my over-the-top control system, I just couldn't justify the cap cost of LEDs.
Cantbreak80,

Out of curiosity ... can you elaborate a bit on your "over-the-top control system" that you use for your lights. We are in the process of finalizing what our PLC will do for our 54 2' G&G LED arrays (108 feet total) that are not 100% installed as of today. We are leaning towards using the same skylight analog light sensor that has been working flawlessly with our PLC for our polycarbonate dog wash building for over 3 years now.

I wouldn't use a light sensor for bays with a solid roof. I could never find a happy medium with a photocell that would have the lights come on early enough at dusk before the bays got too dark and still shut off at dawn if it was even slightly overcast. I'm running an astronomic timer with half the bay lights turning off at midnight, and I intend to use a programmable relay to switch them on when a bay is in use.

Mike,

The primary control is a dual load astronomical timer.

Load 1 is lights for bill changer/vending area, equipment room door, 2 LED security lights and fixtures for two self serve bays.

Load 2 is the remaining six bays of lights. (12 fixtures)

Both loads turn on 30 minutes before sunset.

Load 2 turns off at 10pm. But, if a bay is in use, that bay’s lights remain on for 15 minutes after the bay timer goes idle. And, if a customer decides to use an unlit bay, that bay’s lights illuminate when the bay timer starts.

Both loads turn off 30 minutes after sunrise.

Why? My records show that I have very little, if any business between 9pm and 6am. There is sufficient ambient illumination from my vacuum island lights, my neighbor’s parking lot lights and the city’s street lights for “security”. Since my project was intended to lower energy costs, I figured there was no need to keep the over-capacity bays lit dusk-to-dawn. Two bays are sufficient to satisfy any late night customers. But, if a bay is in use at turn off time, I don’t want that customer in the dark. And you never know, a blurry-eyed bar patron may decide to wash their car at 2:30am and pull into a dark bay!?!

Just in case I was wrong in my analysis, I can flip switches to add bays to Load 1.

Over-the-top?
The control panel has 6 selector switches, 6 DPDT relays, and a PLR that serves as the 6 Delay-Off timers. And, to make it all work, every bay’s pair of fixtures had to be home run to the control panel.
Yeah…Over-the-top!

That's pretty much what I plan on having eventually, except there will be 16 bulbs per bay and four will stay on all night for security and so people can see to pull into a bay.

Trying to find the Glass lens for some of the MH light fixtures is almost impossible sometimes. If you can’t find Glass lens these guys might be able to help you find a replacement plastic lens. http://www.plasticsforlighting.biz/ I got new lens for my 8’ Fluorescents a while back. I think they were about $35 a piece.

I also know a guy in Bardstown Kentucky who is selling a bunch of new 175 wall pack lights with glass lens that have been converted to 105 watt CFL.

My lenses are actually glass at the wash I am changing the bulbs at. I must have assumed that they were plastic since they are at my other wash. What is the best place to look for replacement glass lenses for Lithonia fixtures? I have two that have broken glass. Thanks.

I just missed out on buying the wall packs from I.B.Washingcars. Can anyone reccommend a good place to get some extra fixtures? I need about 12 more. I converted a few to CFL and they are nice, but now I need to add more fixtures.

For anyone that needs to add wall packs, I just bought 12 of these : http://www.soslightbulbs.com/produc...hlwp-high-output-cfl-wall-pack-large-fixture/

No need to pay more for a unit that has a ballast only to remove it, so this is a great deal if you are putting in CFL bulbs. Shipping is only a flat $8.95 as well.
Thanks Slash! That's exactly what I've been looking for; I just ordered eight of them. A while back I wanted to buy the fixtures from I.B. but shipping was an issue.

Looks like I sold the last of my fixtures at just the right time.

Slash, post pics if your fixture with the bulb installed when you get them. It would be nice to see how things fit in that fixture.

Will do. They will hopefully be in tomorrow and then the bulbs in on Thursday. On the website it says that it fits the Maxlight CFL bulbs they sell and those are 12.5", so I figured the 11.5" bulbs should work too. Guess I'll know for sure soon.
