Dog Wash?

There was a recent post in which someone had done the math comparing the income of a self-serve bay to a dog wash and noted that the maximum intake is much lower for the latter. $10 for 30 minutes at a dog wash vs. $1.50 for 3 minutes (or $15 for 30 minutes) at a self-serve, and the equipment costs about the same.

If you search back, you find lots of petwashe postings on this very subject.
The thing to remember here is that a pet wash will do well if its in a good location (Duhh), but needs to be installed correctly, lots of ventilation and kept clean (needs more attention than a SS bay). I've been in a few that make me heave as soon as I walk in...and then they wonder why their sales are poor?!
I have a petwash and it does OK and paid for itself in about a year.

We added ours to an existing wash. I don't think it would be worth it otherwise.
It paid for itself in a little over a year, but does not have the revenue of a SS bay.
Cleanup isn't as bad as the SS's either. We just put up a sign that says "please be considerate to those to follow you, and clean up after yourself" or something like that.
People seem to like it. We're $5 for 10 minutes (so that's $15 for 30 minutes)... sales are still growing as well... so I say if you've got wasted space, go for it.
