Ds 5000

I have a DS 5000 that's stuck at the bottom of the arch in the rear of the vehicle, hydrolic fluid is full. wont move, any suggestions.
I try to put in manual override but it wont move up at all, is there anyway to test the eyes or suggestions to get it back to home?

If I put it in manual override and put my hand over the eye to return to home #16 on the out lights up nothing happens
and knocks it off manual overide

Does the hydraulic unit come on when you switch it to manual override?

Does it have relays that you can trigger manually so you can force the unit to move from inside? If you can do that and it still won't move, check the wiring to the coils on the hydraulic unit and the coils themselves.

First I would check the float switch in the hydraulic tank. Next the contactor for the hydraulic unit (assuming hydraulic unit isn't coming on).

thanks guys, the hydrolic unit comes on in manual override, when I put my hand on the eye #16 blinks and it the hydrolic motor shuts off.

Yes, there are two solenoids on it that control the movement of the gantry. Start with the wiring to the solenoids to see if it's rubbed through or vibrated loose where it comes out of the pump stand control box.

Thank you, cleaning up mud, when I hit 16, gantry feed, nothing happens on manual override, when I hit 17, gantry rear, the hydrolic motor makes a sound like its trying to move but nothing moves. The yellow prox switch that matches the plate on the rear of the car is not in, would that make a difference? I switched it out with bay 2 auto when it went down because I thought it may be bad.

Hitting relay 17 is trying to make the gantry move toward the rear when it's already all the way in the rear, so of course it won't move. Hitting 16 and nothing happens confirms there's a bad solenoid or a problem in the wiring to the solenoid.

There are only two solenoids on the unit. I can't tell you which one might be bad because there's not any difference between the two.

The limit proxes have nothing at all to do with the gantry not moving in manual override.

The hydraulic motor coming on in manual override means everything else is working. You still have a bad solenoid or a problem with the wiring to it.

it may not work at all without that prox , but, the wash will not work without it, because it doesn't know where the end of the arch is. if one of those flags get bent to where the prox cannot read it, the wash stop on that end of the arch.

It will work if the machine was set up and adjusted properly and run once where it reads the proxes and sets the positions, but once the power is turned off it loses that and the prox will have to be replaced.

we have determined that when you cover the lower photo eye on the gantry the eye goes out but the light for the eye will stay lit in the panel, is this a wiring problem to the eye?

That could be a bad eye or a short causing power to be applied to the signal wire. It shouldn't affect moving the gantry by manually pressing the relays 16 and 17, so you still have a problem with the solenoid or that wiring.

im getting ready to replace the bad coil in the am. when I cover the eye on the Gantry the light designating the eye in the panel still does not go out, I think its number 5 or 6. Could this be another problem in itself? is the eye bad? If so do I need to purchase both the sender and receiver eyes?
