The eye may be shorted internally if it got water in it. The light should go out if you unscrew the plug. If it doesn't, there's a short in the wiring.

if I unplug the yellow (prox?) the eye doesn't go out. I don't see a plug on the eye, I believe it wired direct.

I couldn't remember if the eye had a plug or not, I haven't worked on one in years. You might have to cut the wires to check.

I would always set the eyes as far into the machine as they would go to help keep spray off them.

New problem today, came in this morning and the gantrywas down in the front, exit light on. put im manual override and returned to home. put $ now and pull on treadle and the gantry moves 5 feet and blowers come on. have tried 3 times, same thing. inside the cabinet on top 0,1,4,5,26,27,10 are lit. on bottom row 26,27 are lit and 16 is flashing? I was told if an eye is bad the gantry will still run you just lose the safety feature....prox on wheel maybe?

Sounds like the counter prox. I'd start by readjusting it.

Got it thank you very much. On another note......when you run over the entrance pad the water comes out of the nozzles on the gantry. is this controlled by the coils on the side of the bench? I believe there are 4, if so is it the coil or the plunger. sometimes the water will continue to come out of the side spinners long after the wash is over......

Most likely there's debris under the plunger keeping it from closing. The solenoid could be eroded and leaking by. It's not the coil unless there's a short, in which case the undercarriage would run with the side spinners.

so I take the 4 plungers apart and clean, the undercarriage plunger would not come out, when I finally got it out (it was stuck) it would not go back in because of the orange ring was too swollen.any suggestions? undercarriage will not work as I put the plunger back without the ring. when I pulled in no undercarriage but water from the gantry and side spinners came out after I hit the the entrance pad. not sure what to do.

You can order a repair kit for it.

Yes, it means the other valves are not closing. The valve for the undercarriage only controls flow to the undercarriage.

so I replace the dema valve and now the gantry is going to the back of the car on the first pass and stopping at the bottom of the arch again. it will return to home now when you hit the reset switch which it would not do before when the hydrolic solenoid was bad, its now been replaced. so is it the prox next to the eye (the little light on it is not lit) or is it the prox in the gantry again? Any ideas?

should the eye be lit only when seeing the flag or at all times, the eye on the second auto is not lit either but it works. how do you know when the eye is bad/

It's not the eye, it's the prox. I don't think the prox has a light on it. Watch the machine run and try to listen to the hydraulic unit at the same time if that's possible. If the prox is bad, instead of seeing the flag it will come all the way down and strain against the springs for a second before it shuts down.

the count prox inside the gantry has a light on it, the eye/sensor in the can on the outside of the gantry does not have a light. When you hold something steel next to the eye/sensor the light on the computer inside the auto cabinet should come on.
