I suggest getting in the habit of looking at all your income and expense at each year end if you were having a secretary do it throughout the year. It will be pretty easy to spot some major jumps in any category when you're comparing year over year. You could sit down and do it quarterly and it would probably take you less than an hour. This would catch things a little earlier than doing it every year I guess.

Going rate for me is roughly 110-120 for a 4 yd locking dumpster dumped once a week. I don't sign any contracts.

$175 a month at my shop, emptied once a week.

Waste Mgt was charging $100/mo for a 4yd once a week. Gradually raise rate to $175. When contract ran out I called to cancel they lowered rate to $55!
