Ecolab Chemical Opinion

I am considering another change in my chemicals. For three years we were with Blendco. I have had some problems with a scum forming in my triple foam tanks. Rep has been out multiple times with out fixing the problem. I recently switched to Kleen-Rite Super HPH powder because I thought it would be the same as Blendco's but I feel it is weaker from my titration tests. I am now considering giving the Ecolab a chance. I know they are expensive, but they claim (like every chemical salesperson) that there cost per car is much less. To be honest, I am not sure what to believe anymore. I like the fact that Ecolab has all recognizable named products that I can use in my marketing. Anyone use Ecolab and have success or problems? Let me know.

I have been with ecolab for 3 years now. I am happy with the chemicals especially the trifoam products. Other tirfoams I have tried caused various problems with my equipment. I had other trifoams cause swelling of orings within my sytem that made it hard to keep it running. The presoaks that I use have performed very well. They have many to choose from depending on your location, time of year etc.

I hate to say it, but there is no way your chemicals will be cheaper unless you run them really weak.....If you run them at the same strength as your current Blendco, they willl be about 30% higher in cost.

As far as the scum issue, tell me more......This is the first time I have ever heard this......Also what type of tri-foam product are you using.....specifically the name of the product(ex:fragrafoam,etc.) this could help me out......Thanks!!!!

Ryko is running a FREE chemical offer on their web site. Up to $800.00 in free chemicals if you are currently using another product. Ryko has always made their own and even though they have always been quality chemicals there have been many improvements in the past two years. I attribute these advancements to the chemical engineer driving the program. I have learned a great deal from him in the past three years. Free is a great price and is a no risk way to try them out.

I received the announcement via an email from Ryko today. It sounds like the offer will be on the web site soon the same way the free Rain Shield offer was presented to the public. I do have the form that needs to be filled out for the offer. I can supply this form to anyone interested or you can contact your local Ryko service person for more details. I do know the chemical engineer responsible for this free offer program does read and post on this site, so if I am sure he will provide me with further details if needed.
As for my password to the Ryko web site, I do not believe I am able to give this out. This gives sales and service personal access to sales tools. I doubt there is anything my password would give you access to that would do you any good.

I found Ecolab to be good, but expensive. I have since switch my presoaks to Transmates (FilmAway Alkaline and Inovation Acid) which I buy through Kleen-Rite. Much cheaper and IMHO does a better job than Ecolab.

It is hard to make a blanket statement saying one companies chemicals are more expensive than anothers. Distributors all vary on pricing and some sell over suggested retail. I happen to buy direct from ecolab so I probably get a better deal than most since I don't pay a distributor mark up.

Just contact them about becoming a distributor. They're not very picky about it.

I’ve been buying direct from my chemical manufacturer for years. I agree with MEP. Pick you favorite brand, give them a call and ask if you can buy direct. All they can say in NO.

I know you can buy direct from some manufacturers, but not Ecolab. I'm interested in RainX only.

I've looked at direct with JBS and TransMate and they could not match Kleen-Rite's prices...even if I became a distributor. Plus if I buy a skid's worth (easy when you have SS, Pet Wash & IBA), the shipping is free. So I have yet to find better overall pricing.
