Editing a post

I posted a reply a while ago and noticed a grammar/spelling error.
How do I edit my post? Or is there a time limit?

Yes, there is a time limit. 30 minutes, I think. Jackson or I can edit it for you anytime.

I sent Jackson a PM about it. I didn't know it wasn't there. He and I have an edit button for everyone.

The way I understand it, everyone should have an edit button for 30 minutes after you post, then it disappears. Let me know if that's not the case.

Is there a reason for not allowing an edit after 30mins? I've been an avid forum user since....well before forums, and this is the first time I can remember being unable to edit a post.

This is just my opinion, so take it for what it is worth. I could picture a scenario where a poster could edit their post after someone had replied, to make the latter person look bad. Granted, it would have been a blast back in the days of PC, but he did quite well on his own anyway. 30 minutes should be ample time to fix any mistakes. After that, well you said what you said.

I have read a few old threads that were a little hard to follow and I'm sure it was because a post was changed later.
