Without writing a damn book...my electrician started the job, got a ways through it, we helped him finish up, he's gone MIA with a good chunk of change and I find out that he hasn't pulled the permit yet (and we're ready to open). Because of that, I cannot call and get my final electrical inspection so that I can get my new Razor open...what a nightmare! Any suggestions?

It won't help you right now, but you could call your attorney general.

Did the inspectors ever come out before he left? did you have a automatic in there before? If so how about just trying to open it up. I have replaced my automatics before and have never got a permit. Just make sure the electrical is up to code.

No, this is a new addition to our site and I just found out he never called for the permit either...

Do you have a local car wash assoc.? Chamber of commerce?

Ask them to reccomend a new electrician.

Or, ask the inspectors at the town whose work they like and hire them.

Is this a licensed electrician, with a business, a guy working part time for extra cash, or a jackleg who was gonna get his master buddy to pull the permit?

If he was supposedly legit, and you have otherwise been behaving well in regards to inspections , you may have a sympathetic inspector willing to work with you.

If not, you may have to hire another electrician to come in, pull a permit, inspect and sign off on the previous guy's work.

Were you missing a permit completely so that there were no building or plumbing inspections also? I would go the the city and have them help.
After a permit they should be able to sign off on various stages. I think when putting in my last IBA --must have seen various inspectors at least 4-5 times a piece.

I would go to the town, if he is licensed i would talk to them about the permit. If it was all done to code they may just give you the permit and you just give the town the permit money.

If he was legit, he has a bond that you can go against, what he did is criminal so you need to file charges against him too.
