Etowah Valley timer repeating function.

I have 2 bays that over the last week have started to repeat the function over the speaker. It only occurs on the "wash" function, and seems to be random as far as the timing. I called Jim and he suggested to unstack the boards in the timer and put it back together. I checked the grounds and don't seem to see any problems there. I would assume if the timer is not grounded well, that I would get the problem on other functions as well. Has anyone had similar issues with this? The only thing that I can think of with the wash function, would be the soap valve on the pump, but can't see how that would cause the problem. I assume that the timer is just looking for a signal to force the timer to say "wash", but not sure what would cause it to repeat itself.

I had the exact same problem about a month ago. It would keep repeating "soap" over and over again at random. It was a defective board on the timer. It was the very end board at the back of the timer. Jim sent me a replacement and it fixed the problem.

I should probably back up a couple steps here. First I disconnected the output wires going to the pump room to make sure nothing was dragging the voltage down. If the timer sees a voltage drop then the voltage appears again it takes that as just switching to that function and announces what function it is. After I ruled out that nothing (solenoids, starter, etc.) was dragging the voltage down it left me with a defective board.

My Etowah valley in one bay started speaking SPANISH for 2 days they quite? Sounds funny, but its true.

Sparky, how did you isolate the inputs from the switch room. If I remove all the wires from the harness except the power and ground, then try the function, will this do the trick?

In my case it was the HP soap causing the problem. I went to the pump room and disconnected the motor starter for the pump and the wires going to the soap solenoid so I know the HP soap function was disconnected from the circuit and it still kept repeating so I knew it wasn't something in the HP soap circuit dragging the voltage down. You don't have to disconnect all the functions just the one that is giving you problems. I did it in the pump room because it is a pain to seperate the molex connectors that come on the etowah valley equiptment.

Another way to test it is to just swap the entire meter door from bay to bay and see if the problem follows the timer. Mine did.
