Exterior mounted blowers

I know some of you have your blowers mounted outside the building. Have any of you run into any problems with this? Obviously I know the motors are sealed and the electrical is protected, but I was wondering if storms, weather, the elements have had any adverse effects on these units -either structural or mechanical.

I know car wash equipment is designed to operate in a wet environment, but being outside through four seasons seems like it could be tough. Are any particular models more or less likely to have problems? Do you recommend mounting to the building, or to the ground on the exit pad?

Thanks in advance.

Mike,
Have two Superior blowers mounted on outside of building, over 5 years old and so far no real problems. Reason for buying , we looked at several nice on board blowers and several outside mount, was not happy with on board because they seem to us to blow what every is on the floor back on the car, as far as outside we felt that the Superior offered the best solutions for us.
Hope this helps.

Mine are Superior blowers mtd. outdoors. Work great. Top producer has 15 hp oscillating motor; sides are 10hp fixed.

I give a minute of time whic seems right. I also installed a photoeye shutdown if they leave early, saving lots of juice.

Superior has an option for that which I didn't know about when I got mine. It would be wise, I think, to have the shut down option from the start.

I have had my Superior (3, 15 hp with oscillator) mounted to the building for seven years now and not a single problem. I have a remote start on mine and a sign for self serve washers that they can dry their cars for a $1.00. In these times I welcome any dollar I can get!
