I just spent the better part of the day repairing a slow leak in my water boiler pipe works. The copper supply pipe was touching the concrete floor and after twenty-some years it finally sprung a pin-hole.

It the process of cleaning up the pump flange, this fell out of the volute.

I tried everything I could think of to reinstall it but I think the mounting bracket broke off. So, I left it out. Hopefully, I haven’t created more work for myself.

What the heck is that? Looks like an old beer bottle with the neck broke off.. How big is it?

It's a softener test kit titrate bottle...just small enough to get sucked into the 2" boiler supply pipe from the open rinse water tank.

14 years ago, I was absolutely certain that someone broke into the car wash and stole it. I probably should call the cops and tell them "case closed"...but for some reason, I don't think they investigated much.

We once had a McDonnell flow switch paddle break off & ended up right at the pump suction.
