Float valve question :confused:

OK, I plumbed all of my RO reject into a holding tank up high. I plumbed tank with two lines to feed my two Laserwash 4000's. Just gravity feed through two inch lines. One each of my lines, I put a 1" Jobe float valve. These float valves look great.

Here's the problem... Even when the valve is open, no water flows. Here is what I am thinking. There is not enough pressure to open the valve. The water is basically just set up to flow. The holding taking is really just about 6 inches above the float valve and 15 feet away. The pipe actually raises a little before it gets to the float then goes back down.

Has anyone experienced this?

About the only valve that will work in that application is a Roberts "BOB" float valve. There's no spring of any sort acting against the seat and no pressure of water needed to hold it closed.

I had two 2" BOB float valves laying around and used them instead. They work great. While I was at it, I replaced my old Walter's float valves with the new Jobe ones I was trying to use in my reclaim. They are much more adjustable, especially since my old ones were completely rusted up and would no longer adjust.
