Flojet Leaking Air from the bottom

Hey Guys, I found my flojet in this condition this past week,

It looks like this part is somehow broke. Does anyone know what this part is?

Here is the part taken out from another flojet I had. I am struggling to find this on kleen rite's website.

It's the muffler. When they ice up they'll blow off. You run the pump with out it.

The missing part is basically a peice of foam. It'll look like a soda pop cap on ur floor if that's where you lost it.

Thanks Randy. It looked like there was constant air draw from it causing the air compressor to run more. Does that sound right to you?

Have u seen this part being sold by any chance online?

I looked but could not find it. It was also 100 degrees (gotta love Houston) so I was not very through. I will look again. You are right, it is somewhere on the ground. Does it just pop back in?

Yes, it'll just snap on like a cap on Chapstick. And like Randy said, it's a convenience, not a requirement to run it.

Honestly, if you have any concern with its functionality, I would order a new pump and take the muffler off of that one. Then you can start your own spare part assortment when it does finally quit.

Thank you. I found this old thread https://www.carwashforum.com/threads/muffler-blown-off-flojet.8163/. Sounds like it does exactly nothing so I will leave try to look for the original muffler, hopefully its on the floor somewhere and screw it in.

Kleen rite part# 20730000A & 20740050 &20751000A just looked them up.

If you have air coming out of the muffler when the pump is idle/standby that is a differently problem. That would be a bad air spool valve

I've had a problem once in a while where I think the pump is bad and it's leaking air but it's actually the little fitting where the hose connects. It's just kind of clicks in and sometimes it gets a little disconnected right there and you have to reconnect the fitting where the hose goes.

Could have had high pressure come back to the pump if you have a bad check valve. What chemical is this for? Is it connected to the HP gun?

This is for FB (Foam Brush). I do have a couple of check regulators in the middle but I dont have a check valve.

Do you have clean and DRY air feeding the flojet? Sounds like pump has an internal problem, have you put another one on to see if problem gets fixed? These pumps are pretty much disposable at this point, but will last longer with clean and DRY air feed

Yeah, it is pretty humid down here . Sadly.

I made an aftercooler for my air compressor, and the dry air completely eliminated my pneumatic pump issues.
