Foam brush issue

Hey folks,

Looking to see if anyone has any thoughts on foam brush issue I’m having , currently have my foam brush running fairly runny and wanting to thicken it up some , I can get a really good consistency of foam when playing with the air but the issue is the time it takes so get to the actual bay is brutal , which is why I have it currently running not as thick as I would like.

I have foam generators in the equipment room, I have done a lot of reading and seems like a lot of guys have their generators above their bays , is there any other thoughts or ideas on how I can thicken it up and still get a fast delivery to the bays

thanks In advance

My foam brush foam generators are in the equipment room and I don't have any real problems with the amount of time it takes for the foam to come out. I don't think I've ever timed it.

How long is "brutal"? Check your water hardness and chemical strength.

water quality is good , actually just had it checked again last week

If I bring the consistency up to where I want it , it can be well over a minute before it comes out of the brush . Less if foam brush has been used recently for sure

What pressure are you running the pump at? You might try increasing the pump pressure a little and the air pressure.

If you are referring to foam generators as pvc tube with sos pads in it then you are living in the 70's. I have good success by getting rid of the foam generator and replace it with a half inch brass tee. Inject your chemical in the bottom the air in the side and the discharge on the top. Once you do that running 1/2" ploy braid to each bay will increase delivery time and not squish the foam before it reaches the bay.

do you mind pming me a pic of your setup your referring to? Do you have any issue getting thick foam out of that without the generator

pvc with an sos pad like pad is exactly what I have now

Fwiw, we run 1/8" poly tubing out to the bays (one for air, one for chemical) and mix it through a push connect "T" above the brush boom. It's a 105' to my 6th bay including the rise to the roof and it will start producing a thick foam in about 3 seconds. There is 3/8 inch standard blue hose from the "T" to the brush boom and the same from the boom to the brush handle.

In the past I've had great results using the brush to the left in the FB handle.

Do away with the generators. 1/4 poly fluid and air to a tee fittingin the trough. 3/8 polybraid from the t to boom and brush. My delivery time us around 5 seconds 40psi fluid 20 to 25ish psi air.

Can't imagine 1/8" poly. I have that for my shampoo n vac and it produces enough for the single hole brush head on that unit . USe 3/8" poly for the Bays -Brush head has 6 holes.
