We used to have an open bay that we would shut down during the whole winter. Using farm-duty trough heat elements turned out to be unbelievably expensive to keep it thawed out so we were ready to open earlier in case of an early spring-like weather year.
A lot depends on how cold your area gets. I was thinking that Biden's global warming was happening until the last few weeks of continuously well below 0° F daytime highs occurred here ... in our proven cold weather tends to "get the riff raff out" state of North Dakota. I am also worried about the recent weather citrus crops in Texas since I am a personally a heavy cost conscious purchaser of citrus fruit (Vitamin C - Fiber food source)!
Nothing to worry about though ... the main stream news media will non-stop re-assure us that these problems from global freezing are not happening & never happen!
