Gift Card Push Ideas

I'm looking for ideas to really push Gift Card Sales this year.

I plan to incentivize my employees through a contest, promote through our website and facebook, and even offer to ship to recipient or buyer.

Have you had any success with discounting books or giving away a free top wash with gift card purchase?

Currently we sell 5 - wash books, gift cards in multi denominations, and unlimited month packages.

Any help would be appreciated!

You could also set up a commission plan of some sort in addition to the contest for your sales people. Online sales - we did radio promotion for our online sales if they used a promotion code they would recieve a discount. We offer gift bags, giftcard envelopes or gift boxes with our holiday sales. Of course signage, and just marketing in general what ever you use and works for you promote your "perfect gift for the hard to buy for person" or "Great stocking stuffer" etc. We are also going to try off site sales this year.

My local chamber of commerce has 'midnight madness' every year before Christmas. Local businesses offer discounts at their locations from 6pm-midnight. As time gets later discounts get bigger. it is a good night for me.

What's your regular price vs. the discount price for your 5 wash books?
Our customer get the wash for $7.00 instead of $10 when they buy a 5 wash book and we sell over 5,000 books a year. This represents 25% of our annual sales.

We also have a monthly plan and we give a $20 discount if they buy two months at a time.

Our customers get the top wash for $10 instead of $12.

We have monthly pass programs at two main levels $20 and $50 a month. Discounting those is an idea.
