What would cause a Hamilton quarter hopper to randomly jam where the coin falls into the chute? It seems like the quarter partially enters the chute and then becomes wedged between the Quarter wheel and chute entrance. This results in the quarter wheel not being able to rotate until I remove the quarter.

There area number of things that will cause the Hopper jam your describing. How old is the Hopper? When was the last time it was serviced? It could be the Hopper Bowl Assembly or the Motor. Does the Hopper have a groove worn in the bottom of the Hopper? It could also be the brake on the back of the motor, if the brake isn't adjusted correctly or doesn't stop the motor fast enough you can get coin to go past the switch.

I've been having that problem since I installed the new style switch. It's usually two quarters side-by-side stuck in the chute and caught in the wheel.
