I'm more suspicious of the Push Button: Usually it stops accepting cards since it knows the customer wont be able to stop the transactions. I'm just wondering if the Error means anything specific. Because the Push Button error is a separate error.
Easy enough to check too, just unplug the button. It's an open circuit until pressed, the DTI can't tell anything beyond that and will work if no button is present.
Pretty sure it just means you had a bad swipe of a preloaded card. One way a card reader can fail is it will generate fake data and think you are swiping a card constantly. The button will give you a button input error instead. Like MEP said, try swapping your card reader.
