Hamilton end of life for ACW's & Dial Up

GoBuckeyes

Self-Serve and Automatics
Tried calling Hamilton this morning and finally just left them a message after sitting on hold for 30 minutes. Haven't heard back from them yet so I figured someone here might know. I have two questions as we're still using dial up at two locations.

1) I am assuming dial up will continue to work after next week, am I correct? (Also, did I miss an earlier memo regarding the August 29th end of life for the ACW & Dial up? One week's notice is a bit lame if not)

2) Assuming dial up continues to work, what do I do when the CRC won't batch? The only reason I ever need Hamilton's assistance for these is when I get a corrupted transaction which prevents the unit from batching and needs to be deleted. They would dial in and delete the one bad item and then batch it. Can I somehow delete it myself even if it means deleting the whole days batch?

My timeline for updating these to cryptopay just got sped up but it will still be a month or so before I can get it done.

Thanks

OMG.🤦🏻‍♂️ My eyes are worse than I thought! Reading any type of screen has gotten to be difficult.
I’ve always been a Hamilton fan that’s why I thought only a one week notice was lame. I should be able to get them converted by next year🤣

Here's part of the memo I got.

Dear Valued Customer,

This memo is to inform you that effective August 29, 2025, Hamilton Manufacturing Corp. will discontinue support for the following:

Pay stations manufactured before December 31, 2001 (ACW, ACW2, ACW3, ACW4, ACW5, Auto Cashier, and Auto Tec)

Dial-up credit card processing (including ACW and Gold Line®) We will continue to sell select parts for the ACW pay stations until August 29, 2025, but the availability of some parts may be limited, and some select parts will not carry a warranty

This sounds identical situation with the Unitec wash select 2 no longer supported or sold. There forcing us to upgrade to 50k+ dollar modern paystations or cryptopay it seems like.

You can still buy a new Gold Line but the expensive pay stations have a lot of features that help us compete with the corporate tunnels.

I'm a little surprised that they haven't discontinued supporting the ACW-4/5 and dial up system before now. Parts for these systems are getting almost impossible to source and the parts have gotten really expensive.

My Goldline is still holding up well after almost 20 years. Very few issues with this unit; just keeps working great!
