After updating because of stringing- the bill rejection rate and going out of service with worn bills are playing havoc with my customers-- no more stringing but I have fewer bills in stacker-- should I replace the validator (5 yrs old) or change the standard setting for the new PROM ? The S/W prom was installed 3 months back- still shows latest available at Hamilton site-- I was thinking of changing to another brand validator-- Tks for your help

I like to set the XE v3.55 anti-stringing software sensitivity level at “2” and the validator inhibit time at “1”. Have you tried Cleaning and Recalibrating the validator? Who installed the v3.55 anti-stringing software? It sounds like the validator needs to be serviced. When was the last time the XE validator was serviced?

You'll never get an XE stringproof. We replaced all our XE's with Mars and have had practically no trouble with them.

I agree with mep001. No matter how much money you give hamilton you are still going to give money away to stringers. MARS is the only way to go.

Went to one of my washes today and one of my Mars was shut down. When I checked it, it had a bill waded up where someone tried to string it. The tape was still on it. If that had bin my hamilton the only thing I would have found was an emty hopper. God bless MARS.

I've found the same thing a couple times not long after all the XE's were gone. After a few months they don't even try to string them anymore.

If you haven't heard it enough times yet, switch your validator to MARS. You'll be happy you did.
