Hamiton Autoteller won't accept bills

Am I the only one that has intermittent problems where the hamilton autoteller (ACW5) won't accept any bills? Cycling power to the autoteller usually fixes the problem but its annoying wondering how much business I lost. I have surge protectors and filters on the incoming power line to the teller so I don't think its a power issue.

What kind of validator do you have?

I haven't looked for error codes. I usually discover this problem when a car is sitting there trying to put money in and my main goal is to get thier money before they leave and go somewhere else. I beleive it is an XE validator.

You'll have to get an error or reject code off the validator for anyone to have a clue about why it's not accepting bills.

By “Cycling” the power on and off doesn’t really correct the problem. I can almost guarantee you the problem is with the rear gate or flipper in the back of the validator. If you looked at the side of the validator when it shuts down you’ll see an error code of 2.5 validator shut error or a 6.2 rear sensor blocked or 6.5 rear sensor unblock prematurely. Unfortunately there isn’t anything you can do to yourself. It’ll have to go in for service.
