The big holding tank on my OHD2001 keeps overflowing and I can't figure out what's causing it. Water is just seeping in to the tank slowly, so it's not the float valve sticking on. Common sense says it's the 1 1/4" solenoid that feeds it water, but I've replaced the diaphragm, the stem and even the whole top part that the stem screws into, and it still didn't stop the leak. All I haven't changed is the solenoid body as it's going to be a pain to change, but I find it hard to believe that the body is bad. I did inspect it and didn't see any obvious issues, but figured I would ask you guys if it could be anything else before going through the trouble of changing the solenoid body.

Thanks.

I would check the body one more time and look for any pitting in the brass where the diaphragm seal pushes against the hole in the center of the body. A small tear in the diaphragm would do this also BUT it has already been replaced. Small possibility that the hi impact hose going to the OHD is draining backwards into the tank after the pump shuts off if the lexair valve is not seating completely closed but that would only over fill the tank a little and once (until the pump is used again). When driving through the rocker panel blasters does water slowly come out of the arm? And yes it is a PITA to change the whole valve. :)

I'll check the body again and make sure. Water does come out of the arm when the underbody is used, but it has been doing that for a few months now. I know I need to repair, the Lexair valve, but honestly I forgot about it and was never sure what repair kit to get.

I ended up working on it for 5 hours today... Still the same issue. Changed the body, diaphragm and stem, so basically everything. Not sure what else it could be, but I'm trying not to lose my mind... Turning off the water to the valve stops the issue, so that is supposed to indicate an issue with the solenoid, but if everything is new, what else can it be?

i think you should check the float valve again. sometimes they will hang up and let water seep in. gotta be something simple.

That's what's killing me, I know that it is probably something simple. I have literally spent almost 11 hours on it in the sauna of a ER. Worst part is that apparently one of the fittings on top of the solenoid didn't get enough tape, so it leaks. So now I am worse off than I started lol. Are you talking about the small float valve in the tank itself? I thought about that first, but doesn't that just activate the solenoid? It seems to function fine, when called upon the tank gets filled at full force. How would it allow water to seep in?

Slash,

Did you replace the black solenoid? not just the body but the din connector as well.
Are you talking about the coil? The black part that goes over the stem? I was going to replace that as my final thing to try, but tested it with the coil not even connected and it did the same thing, so I ruled it out. Since it's a NC valve, the coil just opens it, correct?

I just tore mine apart and there is no certain way the diaphragm has to go, and yes your correct the coil just opens the NC valve.

Well, I am pretty disappointed in Ryko support as I found the issue and it was a simple as can be. 2 minute fix after I spent 11 hours and countless $ on it. It was just the valve that t's off right before the big solenoid and passes water to the wheels. The diaphragm was bad. I had no idea that there was a return line that goes into that tank, or I would have figured it out sooner. I stared at the tank so many times and traced all the lines that I saw going into it, but never saw the small black line in the back. All I did today was to replace the diaphragm with the same type the hydrominders use and the issue was fixed.

I have no idea how Ryko wouldn't know to mention for me to check that small solenoid. 99.9% of the time it is obvious when a diaphragm or body are bad, so with no visible damage I was really wasting time changing everything I did.

Sorry didn't see this sooner, was gonna ask what drains were back feeding into the tank. My cooling line has always dumped into the bay. When the vales leaking I can see running or dripping water from the green drain line. I could save a few gallons rerouting it though..

Just call Lexair they will help you figure out what you need to fix the valve.
