. Its a cute gimmick that exploits women and does nothing to help the image of professional car washes.

IMNSHO I think it exploits men. They are the ones being seperatd from their $.

Whether it will help the image or not depends on what the women look like;)

A couple of places around Chicago were going to try this model and public outrage and politicians nipped it in the bud. The publicity would have been a big boost if they ever got open.

I was thinking of opening one and telling the politicians on the QT that I was just going to have a bunch of empty Bikinis haning around. Maybe even use some instead of mitter cloth. Figured I'd still get the publicity.

We have a lot of drive through bikini and lingerie espresso stands around the Seattle area. Best cup of coffee I have ever had. :)

You also posted about water containment. In Clark County you will have to a have a water recycling system in place for any kind of car wash. That cost alone will be ten of thousands of dollars for a system that will meet requirements.
I have been speaking to the county all day. I do have to have a sediment seperator but I do not have to treat or reuse the water.

I thought this forum was for discussing professional car washing. A "Bikini Wash" does not fall into that category IMHO. Its a cute gimmick that exploits women and does nothing to help the image of professional car washes.
I am sorry I do not fall into your category of professional however it was my understanding this discussion board was for the discussion of auto detailing and washing (plus pets) and that is what I am trying to do here. There is no reason why these girls cant be trained to provide a phenominal wash.

It is a cute gimmick and as far as exploiting women give me a break. In any other city I would agree but I live where strip clubs are on every corner, we have mueseums dedicated to sex and adult theater , porn cards litter the sidewalks and our sidewalk newspaper stands are exclusively used for escort services. If you think for a second I feel bad about hiring models to wash cars in clothing or have any ethical problems you are very wrong.

In Nevada not only are there strict laws regarding the containment and disposal of the water so that it does not go on the ground or into the storm sewers, there is what you might call "water rationing."

I heard a speaker from the Nevada Water Authority and they have some strict laws regarding the amount of water they obtain for other than natural sources and it has to do with how they ration the water they have, etc.

As well, this business of bikini washes has been tried before in the "City of Sin" and failed.

Certainly it is not something that I believe the International Carwash Association nor any of the regional car wash associations would be interested in supporting or promoting.

Kind of like allowing a massage parlor or porno shop to join the local Chamber of Commerce.

Regards
It is true they ration resedential water but commercial is not so. What car wash was this you heard of? I would really like to hear about it or find anything on it as its something I would like to look into.

maybe this is why i am tired of the shows being in vegas. Vegas is not family friendly, and quite trying to be. On top of that now i will be able to watch women being exploited while getting my car wash. How about if we strive for clean, dry cars, resonable price and good service as our drawl factor. Not a bouncing par of jugs
Agreed with the first part! As far as good washes being a drawing factor whats the fun in that? It is nothing new and car washes are everywhere. Just because the draw is a pair of jugs why does that mean the wash has to be lacking? Whats the problem with a great wash from a sexy woman?

Exploiting women, give me a break, its been a long time since slavery and unequal pay etc. Are the women in the Vegas shows being exploited? They probably make more money than we do. We are hardly talking the "sex trade" here. Go to any beach, and figure out who is exploiting whom.

Personally, I think the idea won't succeed and I wouldn't use it, if it was real successful, but no one is being exploited.
Women in this town are treated like gold. My gf works as a cocktail waitress at a strip club (she has a double major bachelors degree) and makes an obscene ammount of money. She makes about $700 a night and thats not even close to the best job. for women.

Exactly! This is no where near a sex trade. They are not giving happy endings like a massage parlor. They are not "escoring", "street walking"or giving lap dances.

You haven't said anything about talking to the city regarding permitting & use permits. From the sound of your question you haven't and that's where you will find the answers to your question.

I would doubt very much that this could happen without building what any car wash operator would be required to do and it is not cheap. Then you can wash vehicles anyway that you choose as long as it is in line with the city's requirements.
The reason I do not ask about this is because I have done my homework in this regard and I also am assuming no one is from Vegas. As I mentioned before I have extensive business knowledge and expirence on startups, permits and all that fun stuff are not my main issue.

Pitzerwm you are probably right about the exploited part, for in fact their is no one making them take that job, and depending on the pay scale they should make more in tips then i do, and i would never not hire someone because of how good they look. but the drawl needs to be about the cars, the quility and the job that is performed. not about the women
Lets be honest here the wash is a huge draw factor and it needs to be great but it is hardly the main draw. Almost every jofor hire ad has the word "Model" description. Cocktail, dealers, dancers, bartenders, hostess, host, busboy... etc. Every single employerr will consider looks. This part of Vegas disgusts me. There are so many illgeal job postings it is incredible. Ive seen ads for bartenders from major casinos that read "Hiring sexy flirty fun woman (men need not apply). Must be under 125 pounds and at least 5 foot 5. Must have blonde hair and a minimum of a c bust. Oversised and unatteactive women need not apply...." and it goes on and on.

Agreed! However I think I would quickly go out of business if I just had bikinis hanging around lol.

Well I hope your wash water goes to the sanitary sewer, becasue that's the only legitimate way besides a non-porous containment mat. Pavement is porous and allows grey water to leech into groundwater. Period. See 'Federal Clean Waters Act'. Don't care what local officials say; Federal Clean Waters Act trumps all local/state level regulations.

As far as your business plan, let me add some sobering thoughts:

1. The hot women aren't going to be any good at washing cars. Sorry to generalize, and I know this may offend some, but the hotties will be crazy, taking pills, coke, texting, and applying their makeup.

2. The novelty will wear off and the business will fade out.

3. You will never get any women customers. This is your biggest flaw, because the women control household finances. Even if a man gets a wash or a detail, it has to be approved by the woman of the house. If money gets tight, the woman looks at the bills. She scrutinizes. She finds a CC charge every 2 weeks for BikiniWash and guess what? That's an expense they can cut.

Sorry, but this bubble has just burst! Leave it as a daydream because that's the best place for it. :(

Waman reminds me of something I was doing. I was trying to think of some "male" attraction (being a guy) and I happened to do a survey counting the males vs. females. I had 60% female customers, so there went the "male" attraction idea.
