I have been exploring new lighting for car wash bays and if I am going to spend the money I want to in other words "go all out" except when I say go all out I dont mean to the tune of 20-30K for some of the big names in car wash light shows. Basically I was thinking of doing LED Hexagon Ceiling lights in each of the bays and then one colored rope light across the top face of the building.

The rope light is pretty straight forward I was going to order something like I found at this link:

The hexagon lights is what I am having a difficult time finding. Most suppliers cater to indoor uses (garages, detail shops, showrooms). I was hoping to find something at least ip67 rated but the best I have found is ip64 at this link:

also found this one:

Anybody have any experience with these and have a good resource?

You need IP65 or better for a bay. Even then, IP65 might be dicey and I doubt they will warranty it if they find out where you put it.

If you find something that is IP67 it will probably be $$$$.

I want to see pictures if you do it. Great idea if you find something.

If it works in a boat environment it'll work in a car wash environment.
I have them on the arms of my machine the OEM ones were junk at three times the money.

Keep i mind that the lights in the bay will have spray and mist land on them a nd dry and have to be wiped off periodically.

I put Jellyfish lights on my wash, it looks good and you can program the lighting color and effects however you want. It was about $17,000 to do mine.

Was it the rope lights you put on the arms ? If so did you hardwire them?

I use these everywhere at the wash. Bright and inexpensive. 20240325_091353.jpg 20240325_091429.jpg 20240325_091353.jpg 20240325_091605.jpg
