Hi all, first time poster long time lurker.

I am looking for suggestions for a PLAIN vacume (ie; not a multi vac/selectavac/vac with brush or anything) that has a hi-security coin box.

I've had 4 fragramatic selecta-vacs destroyed over that last few years and after looking at the revenue they generated the juice just isnt worth the sqeeze. My other vacs (plain vacs) are on concrete pads with Safes and have had no theft problems. but, the selecta vacs i have these are on a fragramatic Island with cannopy, so i need ones with coin box's.

I know that with being on the islands i run i higher risk of the entire vac being ripped off/stolen but i dont want to replace the entire island.

Thanks in advance..

I don't think there's a vacuum with a truly high-security coin box. There are a number of so-called high-security locking devices to replace the pinlock type or to cover them, but crooks will cut and peel the box to get at the coins.

Sounds like your location would be a good candidate for going all tokens.

Years ago National pride locations had a setup where the meters were seperate from the vacs but dropped into vaults. Perhaps you could do the same. Put meters next to the islands, mounted on their own mini island dropping into vaults and wired to the vacs.

Most vacs that offer high security is simply a bar that goes through a couple of slots that you can put a lock in. This gives you 2 locks, the pin lock and the slide bar lock. I took some older vacs that had been broken into and made a big cover that went over the coin drawer. It was a big heavy peice of stainless bent in a U shape to cover the drawer with some ear tabs on it. 2 tabs were welded to the vac so that 2 big locks were used to attach the cover plate to the vac. This gave a theif more locks to defeat. I have not had any break in since on these vacs.
