Hello

I am asking to see if anybody can provide me with formulas and specifications regarding optimal pressure for various types of manifolds.

In depth is what I am asking is
1) How does a given pressure and GPM ratios via type of pump allow for number of nozzle output
2) How much pressure is effective in car wash setting

Example question would be: With pump X how many 2 gpm nozzles could I use and what would there pressures be.

I am trying to learn about how pumps work and if pumps are compatible with certain manifolds.

Thank You

Since this is the conveyor section, I will tell you that if you have enough equipment you only need High Pressure for the nooks and crannies of the wheels. For the tops I know the customers like the "effect" so i closed half the nozzles and bypassed half the water so they get the swish / swish effect. HP uses a lot of water, and electricity.

Fluid dynamics is very complicated subject and requires a lot of math and physics to answer the questions you posed.

Fortunately, the folks who manufacture carwash equipment have used experts to work this all out for operators beforehand.

For example, a standard high-pressure arch can operate at a maximum pressure of 1,200 PSI and deliver up to 30 GPM. Note that most pumps are rated at 20, 22 or 25 GPM.

The arch mentioned is equipped with eleven full coverage V-jet nozzles which deliver eleven GPM of liquid to the vehicle surface.

Generally speaking, if a different rate of GPM output is required, this can be specified when ordering. The OEM does the math.

Thank you. I figured as much.

We switched from an omni to a flat fan arch and I am playing with the idea of adding high pressure to my extra pump that's only used for undercarriage. Only 6 flat fan 45 degree nozzles. Considering a rocker and mirror blaster.
