I have two issues going on at my self Service car wash.

1. My high presure wash soap is not being pulled into the tank for mixing.

I thing there is an issue with my Hydrominder, should I rebuild it ($25.00) or just buy a new one($100) and see if that fixes the problem... any ideals?

2. I am not getting a good foam on my foam brushes. Should I just increase my air presure or is there any ideals?

Thanks

It looks like you have the same problem with two soaps. Take off the soap hose and pull the chain on hydro andsee if the metering tip has suction, tip can be plugged or it can be the foot valve at the bottom of the soap that is stuck. If not either one --soap scum has plugged your lines to pump or brush. Last thing to check is that dilution has some how gotten screwed up. Either way buy a spare foot valve, and a spare diaphragm for the hydro- when they start to fill slow and shut off slow the next thing that happens is overflowed
tanks.

Every once in a while I find the Hydrominder Venturi has a build up and will not draw.

Try the above items first.

If you have bad water flow check the inlet screen where the hose connects to the hydrominder. (It could be clogged) Take the water supply hose off the hydrominder and make sure you have good water supply. It would be aggravating to check and fix everything else to find the issue is something with the water supply.

If you are getting good water flow and no suction this may be the issue. I unscrew the plastic venturi, remove the nipple the tip crews into and see if there is a build up. If there is and it's hard I use a small plat blade screw diriver and a small dirll bit to scrape most of it and blow it out with high pressure air.

If you still have bad water flow with good water supply, rebuilding it will make it act like new.

As stated, for the FB check for proper dilution first. I use 50 PSi to the flo jet and 10 psi for ther air for the FB. No needle valves or foamers.

You can use that as a starting point. Things will vary depending on your system.

Agree with everything above.
I would check the valve kit and diaphragm inside the hydrominder and foot valve.

Repair

Thanks for the information. think I got some of the problem fixed. I had an extra Hydrominder and replaced the one on the foam brush plused increase the amount of soap mixed with the water. I will have to run through the mixer in the tank before I see if the foaming improves. The High presure wash I cleand and checked everything I could and made sure the hoses was well under the soap. After playing with it for an hour and putting it back together it was drawing saop again. Thanks for your advice.

Time will tell if its repaird.

I use steel fittings on my foam brush hoses and once ayear I drill out the fitting as the build up shuts off the foam.

Also I wire tie a heavy brass piece around the end of the hose leading to the hydrominder to keep the end of the hose at the bottom of the drum.
Being brass might also help in keeping the soap from snotting up.
