Hoping for advice drilling out a disk lock in a fragramatics machine

Hello,
I am rehabbing a watch with a bunch of used equipment I picked up. Unfortunately, I didn't get any keys for the vacs.

I was hoping someone could share some advise on getting a disk lock open on a Fragramatics shampoo vac. It's the vault lock, so all you can see, or have access to is where the key goes in. We have it drilled out to 1/2", but so far have been unable to get it to turn to open the lock. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I could also use some pointers on drilling out a pin lock on a regular vac...

That kind of information shouldn't be discussed here openly on the forum, a professional locksmith should come to your wash and remove these locks. As owners and operators we are not the only ones who watch this site for useful information about our equipment and how to get into it. I don't mean to be rude it's just being careful.

I think that was helpful information. Hire a professional. Most things at my wash, I end up doing myself. Re-keying locks is not one of them. Also, those on here that do, won't tell an anonymous internet person how to break into car wash equipment.

You know, after thinking about it, I like the locksmith idea more. Just watch how he does it, and don't be shy about asking him questions. I've drilled these out for years, but when I needed to do one out of town, I called a local smith. He showed me a couple of things that have helped tremendously, and now I have another cool tool.

OK, I am assuming that you are talking about the disc lock itself, not the cover. Remove the cover before attempting to open the lock. The only issue is that it may take 2 sets of hands. Any professional locksmith worth his salt can easily open a 99% of the disc locks.

Oh, OK, I was thinking Fragramatis. The cover on it has to be removed prior to accessing the disc lock.

Before you go crazy spending money for a locksmith or whatever to retrieve less money that it would cost to retrieve it, do what I have done. Since you have to open the door anyway to remove that plate, just lop off the chute and put a box under it. A token box for a Hamilton ACW works great if you have one of then around. You could also make one out of a piece of PVC pipe with a cap on one end as well. I have always thought that set-up was the stupidest thing, to have the coin box access on the outside, but require opening the door. Why not have the coin box inside to begin with?

Just to clarify, I'm speaking of Fragramatics combos.

If I'm not mistaken, the original design didn't have the plate to block off the keyhole.

Yeah, I think the current setup for fragramatics, allows access only after opening the machine or if you like, leave the plate out and you can access it without removing the plate. I personally would not have it without the plate. My old fragramatics without vacs, have lock acess without opening the machine.
