Hopper 3 jammed error

New changer 3 months old. 6600 quarters ran thru so far. Now have 2 flash/3falsh error code. No jam found. Replaced new hopper with old changer hopper. No difference. Any ideas??

Sorry. Hamilton changer. I can press the release on the motor and it spins fine. When a bill is inserted it accepts the bill. Stacks it. Then no response

Sounds like lint or piece of paper coin wrapper might be blocking the micro switch. Remove hopper and hopper cover and clean any debris in hopper or near switches. Let us know if this works. Be sure and power of unit before disconnecting hopper.

Look at the harness wire to the hopper. Some models have a 12" or so long extension wire to reach the hopper. Make sure it's plugged in securely and not pinched under the hopper where the wires could be damaged.

What model Hamilton bill changer is it? A Hopper payout switch won’t give you a 2 – 3 error code “Hopper 3 Jammed” The Hopper 3 Jammed” error code comes up when the Hopper doesn’t dispense coins and the controller doesn’t see the coins dispensed. It’s either a harness issue or a controller issue. If the machine is only 3 month old I’d call Hamilton and talk to them about the problem.

Thank you all for responding. I did change hoppers and it still failed. Called Hamilton today and we tested the Manuel switch it worked. They said it was the controller and are warranting the old one. Manufacture date was June 28 2018. So thank you all again.

I kind of figured it would be something like a controller with a new changer. If you have an older V5.3 or older C-2000 controller you can use that in the interim while you’re waiting for a replacement from Hamilton. We always have spares on hand for just about every part on the changers.

Yes I have one. Just didn’t want to have to remove it twice. Lol. It is what it is!!
