Hot water float valve doesn't fully shut off. The previous one didn't either?

+1 for the Walters 1" 2 stage! There were Clevelands installed when I bought the wash. Water Hammer was terrible. Plus the Cleveland would start a "Wave" in the tank making it even worse. The Walters eliminated both issues and last 3-4 years before I start to see issues.

I’ve installed the JOBE FLOAT VALVE 4 or 5 years ago. So far no problems but I probably jinxed myself.
Walters for me was good but when they failed I’d walk into the equipment room with water flowing out of the rinse container all over the floor.

With any float tank and valve, its a good idea to have an overflow piped to the drain! Got burned more than once before the light came on!

It also helps the life of the Walters to have a pipe coming off the outlet into the water. It doesn't hurt to put a tee at the bottom so you don't get the "wave" action from the valve opening and closing. That will wear out any valve prematurely and can damage your plumbing and other components if the valve slams closed.

I do have overflow pipes in my tanks. I guess the volume of water flowing constantly overnight is to much.

I've never had a Walters fail completely open or at a level that the 3/4" overflow wouldn't handle. Usually it just seeps and doesn't shut off completely when it starts failing. +1 on the fill pipe and tee. Eliminates waves in the tank like Mep mentions.

The only time I've seen a Walters valve fail fully open was when the owner kept bending the float rod down (trying to stop the tank overflowing) until it was able to float back the wrong way when the tank got too low.
