At the new site I am building I am going to mount the dryers on the outside of the building. How many feet from the exit should I mount the timer?

If you can mount them straight out in front of the driver if they have to turn left or right upon leaving the wash we installed our timers 4 ft out from the exit door and found out quickly that customers complained that they couldn't see the remaining time when they we're half way out of the wash.

If located on the side 12 to 15 feet out lets most drivers look at both the side mirror and dryer timer in the same sight line. Key here is if you have room to turn.

I agree with that distance. If your exit is a right turn, put the timer on the left. If it's a left turn, put it on the right.

It's a straight shot to exit out. The customer can go left or right upon exit but I would prefer them to go left. I have 30' from the building to the street so maybe I'll put it on the right hand side at 15' behind the curb and then start flaring the curb out as it gets closer to the street.

I've had my automatic in for 3 1/2 years now no dryer timer and not a single complaint.
