How to remove stains in bay

Woodys car wash

New member
I have just bought my first car wash and I’m trying to clean it up. The walls are white vinyl or pvc with iron or rust stains. I have tried a couple different cleaners and it’s not working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only chemical I use that has worked is 596-B Aluminum brightener. It costs about $75 bucks for 5 gallons. Makes my dirty vinyl very white. The key is not to let it get too bad. Always wear proper protection as well.

All the previous posters mention products with the same active ingredient: Hydrofluoric acid. Almost every car wash chemical manufacturer makes it. Quest makes one called Aluminate and Arcadian Chemical makes one of the most well-know called Nu-Wall. It is also sold and marketed by truck washing companies and detail suppliers as aluminum brightener. You can even buy it in a weaker solution at your local Napa Auto Parts. It works like nothing else but HF acid is one of the most dangerous products that we use in the industry so I recommend you read up on it, use it with respect and common sense. I don't trust all employees enough to use this carefully.

There are some other acid based products that don't work quite a well but they are safer to use. Quest makes one called SAW and Arcadian makes one called C3

The thing I caution everyone about in regards to cleaning PVC panels is not to use too strong of a chemical. The HF will get it clean with the least amount of scrubbing but will also burn off the glossy layer that make the PVC easy to clean.
Using a strong acid like HF will have the same effect as using acid to etch a concrete floor to prep for paint. It creates a very good surface for dirt to stick to. If your panels have a full chalky appearance when clean the finish has already been burned off.
I use Stone Soap’s Restore diluted 1:5. Apply with a pump sprayer and give a light scrub with a medium stiff “truck brush”. Restore does contain ABF which needs to be treated similar to HF.
