Hello. I was hired 3 months ago as Operations Manager of a family owned wash in New England and have been searching for a Computerized Maintenance Management System(CMMS) for a few weeks now. I've looked at MaintainX, WashUp, Accordev, and a few others but really haven't settled on anything yet. I've had a couple demos, some phone calls, but I'm also still learning all the systems/mechanics here. Of course things are going wrong and needing replacing in the meantime.

One major hurdle I'm personally having... Will CMMS be truly useful for the car wash without being over bearing to use? I can see how helpful it will be, pushing necessary tasks to the top, color coding, photos, videos, etc. ... However for many of the small daily jobs, it might be more of a hassle to input and track, having employees checking off every little thing. Also certain tasks can be assigned but will always require some inspection, manager monitoring/help, etc.

I know this is a bit of an over think, and any implementation will surely help us; our maintenance company actually uses MaintainX, so I'm leaning towards them. we currently use jolt for scheduling and checklist/reports, but honestly cannot justify the cost of using jolt.

i am currently working on jotforms for checklist/reports which will automatically send updates to our group chat app (slack) upon submission and also auto-update spreadsheets.

many ways to skin a cat, but the most important factor is accountability and being on top of your team members so they use the checklist/reports as intended.

something like 100 bucks a month. i love the work schedule portion of the app but thats a ridiculous price. great support though.

I use google sheets with my employees. They do a daily write up of what they did and it ends up in my email as well as always being saved in google sheets. Updates to my phone automatically and is free. I also do project lists on there so employees can check them off as they have time to get to them.
