I have been cleaning my IBA with a power washer for many years now. It seems to blow a lot of the dirt around creating more work. I saw on a show recently how they washed down an amusement park. They used a large fire truck type hose. I was considering running a large 1 to 1/2 line from my reclaim system out to each bay and using a large hose. It would be a lot of work if it didn't work any better. Any body using a good method outside of powerwashing?

I use a garden hose and a broom for daily cleaning. Works fine.

Part of my problem might be that they only get washed down once a week. Large debris gets swept out each day. No hose bibs in either bay right now. It would be a lot of work to haul out a hose reel each day but maybe that's what needs to be done.

I set up an extra pump for washing down the lot and set it up for 6 GPM at 2000 PSI. It was too much pressure and volume for the auto bay as well, so I added a second bypass regulator with a ball valve I could open to reduce the pressure to 1200 PSI.

I bought this heavy duty hose reel at Northern Tool to use with my power washer.

It's a lot easier to move around than the "P.O.S." plastic one I had. I have a high pressure bib in the bay of my D & S Quicksilver but I worry about damaging the pump is the wand trigger is not engaged for any length of time.

Are my concerns justified?
