I am wondering if anyone has a solution to a jammed IDX coin acceptor. The IDX unit filled up over the weekend. I was out of town and my help forgot to empty. It filled all the way up to the opening. After clearing and resetting, the unit doesn't work.

I haven't spent a great of time yet trying to diagnosis, but I would have to imagine it is mechanical. I am thinking a customer tried to force another coin in and may have bent or misaligned something mechanical.

If someone has experienced this before, please send suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

when you say it does not work do the coins fall thru and they just return or does it keep jamming? there is a diod that should show green if all systems go but will show red if there is an error. I don't remember the flash codes but the idx web sit might have something that would help.

I had the same issue. Someone plugged it up and then tried to pry them out. After I cleared the coins, the acceptor just passed the coins through and kicked them out. I had to send mine in for repair. They said that something was mis-aligned, but I sure couldn't see anything bent. Guess they are pretty sensitive.

Thanks,
Lighthouse.

Tiger, is this acceptor in the bay or an electronic vendor? I had this problem in a vendor and it turned out to be the electronics board had to be reset and not the acceptor.
