Having some issues with my MA 800 coin mech (on a vacuum) and looking for some advice on how to diagnose/fix. I first had an issue with the inlet rail jamming up with quarters which started with one or two getting stuck in the mech itself and backing up into the upper slot. I cleared that and tested with multiple quarters finding that most were not being accepted and going into the return slot (probably 1 out of 5 making it through and being accepted). I noticed that the front portion that swings out was not that tight to the rest of the mech and if I held the two halves tight with my fingers it accepted most quarters then. I removed the cover on the swing out portion inspected and re-installed and it now it closed tight and seemed to work normal (problem solved...so I thought at the time!). I have since had it jam up again and wonder if this is a common thing or if there is anything I need to adjust/clean/replace to get it back working properly. Thanks!

For what it is worth, I had those on 8 vacs at a wash I bought. They were nothing but problems. I trashed them all and put in slugbuster IIs, like I have everywhere else. They cause little headache.

The best advice I can give is the same as Washnvac, toss the piece of crap in the garbage. IDX nolonger repairs them and when they did 99% of the time they would only work for a short while then die. At one time we had 14 of them now I think we have 3 left, when they die we replace them with a Slugbuster. Save your time and frustration and toss it and move on.

I've used ma 800 since they came out in the 90's. Kept them clean and use coin box heaters in the winter. Make sure that the 4 wires out of the mech is tight and screw is in place, check the 'L' shaped metal tang is not letting the screw past over top. I have also used electrical tape to keep the coin mech together. I also use the ma 812 to accept the 4 different loonies and toonies, gold coin and tokens.
