I have some experience with this subject too. One of our neighbors complained about noise from the dryers (which are farther away than the 90 feet in this discussion). The city came out and took decibel readings and told him to pound sand because the road noise from the state highway was louder than our dryers. Neighbor wasn't satisfied so he made a complaint with the EPA. The city abandoned me and I ended up having to prove to my insurance company there was coverage for this. They hired a lawyer and a sound specialist from Univ. of IL who came and spent a lot of time and money at my wash. It was a big nightmare and we ended up installing an extension on our exit end and having to pour more concrete on the edge of the lot so cars could make the exit.

I had this issue. I had a city inspector sound engineer and hired my own private sound engineer. I ended up having to install exit doors on my automatics on the side with residential across the street. I have on board dryers. I also had to have some sound boxes fabricated to go over my air shammee's. It was a royal pain in the butt and expensive. Funny thing was my vacuum stations which were closer to the houses were louder than the dryers, but the city was OK with them. It was all very subjective and the city enforcement guys really jsut wanted me to jump through hoops.
