Consider these pleasant facts. Since Obama was immaculated gas prices have doubled, unemployment has doubled, the national debt and yearly defecit have increased enormously, and 13% of homes are sitting vacant. He says he wants energy independence, then closes down producing wells in the gulf and forbids new drilling in areas with known abundant reserves. And according to a recent poll, 60% of college students think he is doing a good job. We are doomed.

Somethimg to consider...when Obama and the Dems talk about energy independence, they are talking about using wind, solar, and green energy, not oil.

Something else to consider.--It will be just talk, like everything else he hasn't done. In the meantime, he can make alot of peoples lives more difficult. I agree we need to lower oil consumption, but until then why try to make prices higher, and eliminate more jobs. He asked congress for inquiries into oil company profits, while Bush was in office, but now blames oil companies for lack of drilling. A true Democrat.

From different sources that the so-called major media doesn't quote, I keep hearing that we have from 50 to 200 years of energy reserves in OUR OWN TERRITORY. Yet these ivy league graduates insist we devolope more expensive and less reliable technology. When you look back several hundred years you find that every generation or two, you have an energy crisis where the common supply can't keep up. We used to be highly dependent on whale oil. The market will find solutions on its own without big brother. Meanwhile we have over 40,000,000 citizens on food stamps. The democrats are arguing whether we should cut 5 billion to 60 billion from the current budget. The country borrows slightly OVER 4 BILLIION DOLLARS every freaking day. They are saying it's extreme to cut it less than 2%. And 60% of college students think this son of a goat hearder is doing a fine job. Give me a break. Or better yet, give me a shot of tequila.

One excuse I have heard is that it would take too long to drill for oil - at least 10 years. I read that we would only need 74 miles of pipeline for ANWAR to connect to the Alaska pipeline which could be done in 2 to 3 years and produce an additional 2 million barrels a day. Think how many jobs that would create and add to our economy. That would also give us time to further develop oil in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado as well as off the coast of California and Florida.

For some reason this Administration would rather send our money to the Middle East and South America to people that either hate or want to destroy us instead of using our own resources and making us more independent while improving our economy. Eventually we could be selling oil to the rest of the world rather than buying it and in the meantime we could work to develop alternative energy resources as well.

Just starting the project would stop speculators in their tracks and cause oil prices to drop. When Bush authorized drilling the price of a barrel of oil went from $100 to almost $40 in less than three months.

Thank you rph for that information. It's somewhat amazing to think that the president could decree this and lower the price, and he doesn't do it.

It be the plan, man

On TV this morning I just happened to hear of a relevant quote. Steven Chu, Obama’s Secretary at the Department of Energy, said in an interview that gas taxes should be increased in order to force people to turn to alternative energy sources.

The price of "petrol" in Europe is now around $10 per gallon. “Somehow," Chu said, "we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to levels in Europe."

Hey, looks like the O and his ivory-tower brainiacs really do have it "figured out".

BTW, I just have to ask: is that what the Lib operators who frequent this site (few tho' you may be) really want?!! ... I mean, REALLY?!! ... Plus, of course, higher taxes, more irresponsible spending, more crushing debt, printing more 'n more worth-less money, (impending) hyper-inflation, more regulations, more union rule and payoffs, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera?!!

On top of all of this during his recent trip to Brazil Obama pledged to offer assistance to Brazil to develop their oil reserves. In other words using our money and technology to help them develop their resources so they can sell it back to us while he continues to resist any efforts to develop our own oil reserves. How screwed up is that?

PS After Obama left the country the Brazilian government condemned our participation in Libya. Obama couldn't even bribe these guys for their support.

Is there a way to impeach the Nobel Prize award committee? Think about it, both Obama and Chu, our energy secretary, have been awarded the prize. It used to mean something.

Wasn't it Newt who said, "Drill here, drill now, pay less" What part of that does Obama and the dems not get...or do not want to get. This whole topic makes me crazy. Makes me just want to go to Washington and slap the sh*# out of someone.

Just got this from Dean at Catec. I'll put it in a couple of posts because of its length.
Subject:

You "will" pay $5 a gallon + again and you won't complain loud enough to make a difference, RIGHT!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's an astonishing read. Important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more than all the Middle East put together." Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and extreme eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5...3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.

"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years," reportsThe Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana , through North Dakota and into Canada . For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves..... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!
That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from 2006!

U.. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

Continued:

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth.. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq
- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.
Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent this to every one in your address book.

By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!
GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

Our state of ND has too much money because of oil taxes. I could make more money driving a water truck in oilfields. Each well needs 2 million gallons of water to fracture the rock and release the oil. I know Obama has not a clue, but if we use other countries oil up first, we would be sitting with all the oil.
The price of oil also fell when Bush said the people should conserve, but it caused market problems thinking consumers would cut back on everything. It still would be a good idea to have alternative sources of energy. It is hard to be a super power, but reliant on camel-Jockeys.

Gas was $6.38 a gal in NZ and $6 a gal in AU, with them predicting $8 a gal.

AU has their own oil and actually export oil. It's all about controlling the public. DC is using the play book from the dictators around the world. Of course, they will miss the reality of whats happening in the Middle East. IMO what is happening in the Middle East will effect our lives more than 9/11 did.
