So mine has died. motor runs, but no air comes out. I could plumb air from my compressor room relatively easily. Or how about one of these?

If you want to keep the unit reliable, don't cheap out on the compressor.

I'd burn a $100 bill before I spent it on that compressor from Harbor Freight.

A good compressor will run $300-400. IIRC, the backup compressor I got for the wash was $699. It was the cheapest continuous-duty compressor I could find, and it very easily supplies the whole wash with air by itself. If I were in your place, I'd put the money toward that and plumb from the equipment room.

Just to make you feel comfortable...mine has been working off of the e-room compressor for about a year. Only downside? Because I also eliminated the soap solenoid (I wired the pump to the brush's push button relay), it's absolutely silent until the customer presses the push button. I've even considered installing a "noise maker"... just to give users some sense of confidence.
