I am trying to upgrade my coin acceptor on my jim coleman combo vacs to the new microcoin ql but I ran into a problem the coin slot is cut out to only accept quarters nothing bigger like the tokens nor dollar coins can go thru , looking for ideas on how to widen the coin slot to accept tokens and dollar coin.

I use a set of “Precision Needle File Set 12 Pc” from Harbor Freight. Makes for nice clean cut, work a little off the top and off the bottom of the slot. You want to be careful to not take to much out of the coin slot.

I have done a few using a hack saw blade in a plastic handle I have. Fine tooth blade the slot is just over 2 blades wide.

I've used a jigsaw with an abrasive blade. Go slow, if you ramp it up to full speed the abrasive goes away almost instantly.
