I have a Jim Coleman vac with a ct2040 timer and slugbuster coin acceptor and want to be able to accept token do i need a new timer and acceptor?? LED6 ? Slugbuster II OR III?

Slugbuster II or III are the cheapest way to take tokens. Slugbuster II will take a customer's $1 coin and only give a quarter credit. Slugbuster III takes $1 coins, quarters, and one token, and you can turn off the $1 coin if you want. IDX MA850 will take quarters, $1 coins, and up to six different tokens. According to a fellow operator I know they've been reliable for him, but IDX has not been very good about supplying or repairing units. Microcoin QL used to be really good from what everyone has said, but I recently installed two new units and I'm having a lot of problems with coin jams.

You only need to replace the coin acceptor to accept tokens.

Just to clarify you do not need a new timer. The coin acceptor is what assess the coin/token and send the appropriate number of pulses to the timer. You will program the acceptor to tell it to send "x"number of pulses to the timer.

ok thanks

Does it wire up the same way?
You probably have a Sensortron. A Slugbuster or Microcoin wires up differently, but it's very simple. It comes with instructions, follow the ones to wire it to a Dixmor LED6. The MA850 wires the same.
