I have been using Kleen-Rite guns for several years now (GUK600W). I'm happy with the performance and over all quality. However, I have approximately 10 of them with broken plastic housings sitting in a bucket in storage. I can't bring my self to throw them out because they still work.

I don't think I've ever had to throw one out becuase of leaky/bad internal parts. It is always broken housings due to customer abuse.

In any event, I have inquired more than one time about ordering just the plastic housing (I don't need the trigger). It is available, but only at approximatly $5 less than a complete new gun. It dosn't make sense to buy just the plastic at that price.

I don't see why this the plastic parts are more than 75% of the complete gun. I have designed some plastic parts in my former career as a mechanical engineer, I know they don't cost anywhere near what is being chargeed. In my opinoin, they should be able to offer the plastic for less than the (seal) repair kit.

I would like to see if other operators are having the same experience. If there are many like me, perhaps we could persuade Keith (at Kleen-Rite) to put some effort in to getting some better pricing on this item.

Please post your experince. The more the better.

I have had similar problems , but with 36 bays i do get guns that wear out and we save the housing . Sometimes the screws have rusted enough it is impossible to open. The housing really should be available.

We used to use the Kleen-Rite GUK600W gun and I used to replace the plastic handles but gave it up years ago, my time is worth more than the savings. A few years ago we got a bad batch of the GUK600 guns and switched to the Suttner STU1500W, which is only $16.50. When the gun goes bad or get broken we toss it and put on a new gun on.

I agree with Randy. I bought a dozen or so Giant guns a few years ago. Of the ones that didn't fail within a couple of months the plastic housings broke up. They were the biggest POS that I ever bought. I would bet that this is the K/R gun. I have switched to the Suttner gun and haven't regretted it one bit.

I prefer JE Adams guns because the housings almost never get broken. I replace the gun, hose and swivels all at once when the hose starts to show cracking by the gun fitting, and I don't reuse or rebuild the guns. It's not worth my time to rebuild them just to have a beat-up old gun that still works.
