A customer had a strange stain on the perforated part of a leather seat. I had a vinyl guy re-dye the stained spot.

Now there are 2 similar stains beginning on the rear seats.

It's only on the perforated parts not on the solid leather. It looks like the leather is degrading.

Help!?

It could be wicking up from underneath. Sometimes if a lot of liquid is spilled on a seat and is not wiped up immediately it gets under the leather then wicks up. If that is the case I think that only dyeing can resolve the issue unless they have the seat reupholstered.

Some Infinity cars have ventilated seats for both cold and hot. THe cold portion comes from a special coolant that is circulated through the seats. If a small leak occurs this could cause the stain. I would have the dealer cheick for this first.

No pictures but I can try and get some.

It was all over the place, front and rear, so I don't think it's a spill issue.
